JUNIOR DOES: Under 6 months of age. Minimum weight 3 1/4 lbs.
Note: Juniors which exceed maximum weight limits may be shown in a higher age classification. No animal may be shown in a lower classification than it's true age.
Note: The unique quality of the Rhinelander is based on three considerations. They are type, color, and markings. The better rabbit is determined by type being first, then secondly coloration and markings (equally)
Note to Judges: Rhinelanders, except for examination for disqualifications, and to compare certain markings closely, should be judged without handling. Let the rabbit pose in its natural position. Do not dig, poke, or tug at the animal. Above all, do not flatten the animal down on the table while judging. The best way to view the animal is to stand back from the table and allow the rabbit to move naturally.
General Type
BODY: Points 36: The body is to be well arched, avoiding any tendency toward heaviness in the shoulder or hindquarters. There should be an even width of well rounded body, of sufficient length to show good arch, with a smooth back line blending into rounded hindquarters. The body should be carried "off the table" in an alert pose. The general appearance is one of alertness and springiness, showing daylight underneath. A small dewlap is permissible on senior does.
Faults: Short and close coupled in body type; chopped hindquarters.
HEAD: Head is to be full, well shaped, and set closely on the shoulders. Head is to balance with the body.
Faults - Snipey or bulldog type head
EARS: Ears are to be well furred and balance with the head and body. Ears are to be carried in a "V" shape.
