Ethan and I have had Rhinelanders for nearly a year now but we have just now joined ARBA. It's official we are rabbitry registered #D1749. It feels good to make it official :) We showed our first homegrown Rhinelander at Coldwater CM'S Nitro and the judge said he had very promising type and good markings--always good when you're relatively new to a breed. The Rhinelanders are our pride and joy of the rabbitry but at Coldwater we bought a Lilac junior buck (the breed, not the color) and are looking for a doe for him. He is the sweetest boy ever, he sure loves attention. We also got a Californian senior doe to breed for meat rabbits but we will not have any for sale until at least this fall if not later. The Californian doe is supposedly a good mother but we'll see when she kindles. This could be a good opportunity to foster our Rhinelanders to her since so far our Rhinelander doe has not had m

Well Saturday we will be showing our first homegrown Rhinelander. It's not really our first show, it's the first time we'll be putting a homegrown rabbit on the table. I can't believe how outstanding Nitro is turning out to be, he shows excellent type and movement at a young age. He is developing better than we expected and has better color distribution than both of his parents. Luckily he got his dad's personality, his dad acts like a dog and adores being loved on. His mom Boo on the other hand hates me (Heather) but will let Ethan pet her. So not fair lol. Have

Halsey's Peek A Boo our Rhinelander doe lost her entire litter, they didn't even live a whole day. This has been her second litter where bad luck has struck, last time only one kit survived. This is pretty upsetting considering that Peek A Boo is such a gorgeous doe and we were hoping she would pass some of her good looks onto her kits. We are going to try to breed her again and see how that goes. The heat has been pretty bad here in Michigan, but luckily we don't have an A/C so the rabbits are doing perfectly fine with the higher temperatures. They do have a fan and frozen water bottles to keep them cool but we haven't lost any rabbits (and they're all in good condition!) despite this heat wave. On a good note we will be showing our first homegrown Rhinelander in Coldwater, MI on July 14th. :) Hop
